The Poor Man's Steadycam

November 22nd, 2008 r. d. No comments

Perhaps I am a little behind the times, but I am always excited to find really awesome hardware (as in lowes, home depot, etc) projects that are practicle, innovative, and CHEAP.  Below is a link to a CMU student who built a steadycam (the uber-expensive things that balance a camera while running to get action shots) for $14.  A fantastic compromise between quality of footage and cost (the cost alone makes this appealing).  And it gives me an excuse to buy a stationary vice :)
